THe BuTTeRFLY StORY ~ STRUGGLE MAKES US STRONG

A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared stuck.

The man decided to help the butterfly and with a pair of scissors he cut open the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shrivelled wings. The man watched the butterfly expecting it to take on its correct proportions. But nothing changed.

The butterfly stayed the same. It was never able to fly. In his kindness and haste the man did not realise that the butterfly's struggle to get through the small opening of the cocoon is nature's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight.

Like the sapling which grows strong from being buffeted by the wind, in life we all need to struggle sometimes to make us strong.

When we coach and teach others it is helpful to recognize when people need to do things for themselves.

FINALLY DOW JONES 12,200, REBOUND????????

Amazing....Dow closed at 12,216 as what initially expected. After running few days, Dow need to rest before continue journey to the north. :P

Don't forget monday is the last day of 1st quarter. Hopefully Dow can close high and by the first week of 2nd quarter, Dow will continue heading north and eventually break 12,700. Is it possible? By just looking at our weak sentiment at the moment, maybe it is a little bit difficult but..... NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. :)

SHANGHAI index also closed 5% higher. Wow........ !!!!!!!!!!

WHAT sHOULd WE dO AS tRADeR? :)

SB would like to share about trading. Many people think trading is the easiest way of making money in the stock market. But why there are many market traders end up losing money in the market? The answer is very simple because there are many people don't really understand the rules of trading but they just play it blindly.

If you don't understand it, the market will wipe you out. So, this is what happened. Trading is like a game. If you want to win the game, first of all you have to understand rules of the game.

INTEREST -> UNDERSTAND RULES OF TRADING -> DISCIPLINE -> FIND SUITABLE TRADING METHOD WHICH SUIT YOU -> MAKE $$

Based on SB experience, these are few things that traders need to pay attention.

-The first few hour of the trading day is always driven by emotion which affected by overnight movement in the US market. Most of experience trader will simply watch the market for the first half day of trading and wait for subsequent trading breakout.

-Understand whether market is in uptrend/downtrend or consolidating phase. We need to understand trend. REMEMBER, when you make mistake, admit it. There is time for you to cut your loss. It's painful though. :)

- Ride with the profit, Cut your loss. Most of people prefer to ride with loss and cut their profit. As a trader, we should not book profits too early in order to enjoy the winning feeling.

-Keep yourself up to date to the latest news. Small investment will lead you to huge profits. :)

LET's wAIT FOR tHE OppORTUNitY TO EnTER!!!!!!!!!

After opening low earlier in the day, STI managed to close almost 1% higher. Is it the sign of window-dressing? :)

Time will tell us. Once again, FTSE/ST China went up almost 5% to close at 452.67 today even though Shanghai Index closed 5% lower today. Strange, right?

So, do we need to go shopping now as market looks quite cheap? Yes, but it would be better for us to wait until the consolidation is over before riding with the bull.

I believe if Dow Jones can break 12,700, it will be one of the signals that the worst is over. But before that we will see dow to consolidate to 12,220 - 12,300. Let's see how long does it take to break that point. Next month??? Hopefully. my prediction is right.

ObSTAcle = OpPORtuNITY

In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.

Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road.

After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many others never understand.

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one's condition.

STI PAUSES AFTER TWO DAYS BIG RALLY :)

REVERSAL -> CONSOLIDATE -> UPTREND

As expected, after 2 days big rally (almost 200 pts) market starts to consolidate. We can see some profit taking here and there. The good thing is market consolidating with low volume about 1,466 million shares compared to yesterday which hit 2,325 million shares.

Let's see whether we can start the 2nd quarter with BIG BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we can see the buyers start to come in again next week to welcome 2nd quarter.

The Chihuahua and Leopard ~ CREATIVE THINKING AND ACT DECISIVELY

A lady takes her pet chihuahua with her on a safari holiday. Wandering too far one day the chihuahua gets lost in the bush, and soon encounters a very hungry looking leopard. The chihuahua realises he's in trouble, but, noticing some fresh bones on the ground, he settles down to chew on them, with his back to the big cat. As the leopard is about to leap, the chihuahua smacks his lips and exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here."

The leopard stops mid-stride, and slinks away into the trees.
"Phew," says the leopard, "that was close - that evil little dog nearly had me."

A monkey nearby sees everything and thinks he'll win a favour by putting the stupid leopard straight. The chihuahua sees the monkey go after the leopard, and guesses he might be up to no good.

When the leopard hears the monkey's story he feels angry at being made a fool, and offers the monkey a ride back to see him exact his revenge.

The little dog sees them approaching and fears the worse.
Thinking quickly, the little dog turns his back, pretends not to notice them, and when the pair are within earshot says aloud, "Now where's that monkey got to? I sent him ages ago to bring me another leopard..."

ASIAN MARKET RALLY~ REVERSAL???

Wow amazing.... STI rose to 3000.19 on volume 2,325.7 million shares worth almost $2.6 billion.

It's interesting to see most of STI china stocks rebound while SSE index still forming the base before it rebounds. FTSE ST China index rose 20% to 439.16 in just 2 days. It seems the downtrend is reaching a bottom with some evidence.

-Volume was low when it declined and it was high (approximately 70% higher) when it rose and finally hit 3,000 again today. :)
-The 2nd quarter is coming and maybe it's the opportunity for fund managers to window-dress their portfolio now. Furthermore, valuation is much cheaper.
-Fed had cut rate form 5.25% to 2.25% to save the US financial institutions form going default because of the loss form sub-prime mortgages. It will take 6 months or even 9 months for the effect of a rate cut to filter into economy and to kick start the process.

So what should we do now? Hopefully, this is the real reversal sign so that we can go shopping and HUAT TUA TUA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

REVERSAL -> CONSOLIDATE -> UPTREND

SB 4D RECOMMENDATION:
-KTL GLOBAL ($0.410)
-Hongguo ($0.520)

The Budha and The Abuse ~ IT'S YOUR CHOICE ~

A tale is told about the Buddha, Gautama (563-483BC), the Indian prince and spiritual leader whose teachings founded Buddhism. This short story illustrates that every one of us has the choice whether or not to take personal offence from another person's behaviour.

It is said that on an occasion when the Buddha was teaching a group of people, he found himself on the receiving end of a fierce outburst of abuse from a bystander, who was for some reason very angry.

The Buddha listened patiently while the stranger vented his rage, and then the Buddha said to the group and to the stranger, "If someone gives a gift to another person, who then chooses to decline it, tell me, who would then own the gift? The giver or the person who refuses to accept the gift?"

"The giver," said the group after a little thought. "Any fool can see that," added the angry stranger.

"Then it follows, does it not," said the Buddha, "Whenever a person tries to abuse us, or to unload their anger on us, we can each choose to decline or to accept the abuse; whether to make it ours or not. By our personal response to the abuse from another, we can choose who owns and keeps the bad feelings."

THE LION AND THE RAT

One day a small rat surfaced from his nest to find himself between the paws of a huge sleeping lion, which immediately awoke and seized the rat. The rat pleaded with the fierce beast to be set free, and the lion, being very noble and wise, and in no need of such small prey, agreed to let the relieved rat go on his way.

Some days later in the same part of the forest, a hunter had laid a trap for the lion, and it duly caught him, so that the lion was trussed up in a strong net, helpless, with nothing to do than wait for the hunter to return.

But it was the rat who came along next, and seeing the lion in need of help, promptly set about biting and gnawing through the net, which soon began to unravel, setting the great lion free.

“All good deeds are important at whatever level they are performed.”
